| Abstract | It is a great pleasure to have the 6th IEEE International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (CIT2006) held in Seoul, Korea from September 20-22, 2006. As an important academic activity in the year of centenary celebration of Korea University, we believe that it will serve as one of the major forums for researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss and exchange ideas and opinions, and envision the future of computer and information technology. Embracing multidisciplinary studies and providing opportunities for exchanging research results across a wide range of fields in computer and information technology are the main features of the IEEE International Conference on Computer and Information Technology. In response to the call for papers, 611 papers were submitted from 34 different countries from Asia, Europe, North America, and etc. After extensive review, 260 papers were accepted for oral presentation in 48 technical sessions. Due to the large number of high quality submissions and the limited number that we could accept for this conference, we apologize for not being able to accept many good papers that were qualified but had to be rejected. This year, the conference program consists of 12 technical tracks and one affiliated workshop, the International Workshop on Knowledge Engineering and Computer Aided Design (KE&CAD-2006). In addition, the conference has highlights contributed by four excellent keynote speeches. CIT2006 is organized by RICT, Korea University, managed by IEEE Computer Society in cooperation with Korea Information Science Society, Korean Institute of Communication and Sciences, The Institute of Electronics Engineering, Korea Information Processing Society, The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, University of Aizu, Next Generation Internet Research Center and Grid Middleware Research Center, and was sponsored by SK Telecom, LG CNS, Korea Hewlett-Packard and ETRI. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

NDLI is a conglomeration of freely available or institutionally contributed or donated or publisher managed contents. Almost all these contents are hosted and accessed from respective sources. The responsibility for authenticity, relevance, completeness, accuracy, reliability and suitability of these contents rests with the respective organization and NDLI has no responsibility or liability for these. Every effort is made to keep the NDLI portal up and running smoothly unless there are some unavoidable technical issues.
Ministry of Education, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT), has sponsored and funded the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) project.
