| Abstract | Gradual increase in the usage of electric vehicles in order to reduce the green house gas emission and shortage of conventional fossil fuels gave us the platform to discuss about this modified switched reluctance motor. The switched reluctance motor presented here is rotor and stator swapped one, in which the rotor part of the conventional SRM is kept as stationary part with windings in it and the stator part doesn't have any windings and it acts as a rotor. This paper presents some aspect of using modern switched reluctance motor, based on the static magnetic characterization using modern SR motor design and simulation tool (ANSYS). Three types of SR motor configurations are analyzed here (i) Conventional switched reluctance motor (ii) Rotor and Stator Swapped Switched reluctance motor (iii) Novel Rotor and stator swapped switched reluctance motor with circular hole in the rotor pole. The comparative analysis is based on the magnetic performance and calculated parameters of each motor model. The studied parameters are electro-mechanical parameter, rotor torque profile and magnetic plots. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
