| Abstract | The Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry in Japan published a target to install 3 GW wind power generation to be connected to grids by 2010. However, as outputs from wind power generation fluctuate time to time and wind power resources are available only in specific areas, deterioration of the quality of utilitypsilas power supply has become an important issue to be solved. As a countermeasure for the problem, the government began to subsidize wind power generators for storage battery systems, which enable them to make fluctuations of wind power outputs smooth. Also, an electric power company has announced technical-requirements to connect such systems to the grid. One of the requirements is to stabilize fluctuating outputs of wind power generation within a prescribed level, and the other is to operate wind power generation according to a submitted generation schedule. This paper presents two types of control systems to meet these requirements. Each control system was verified to be practical by simulations based on an actual network and data. Necessary capacities of the storage battery to fulfill two technical-requirements are determined respectively. In addition, the validity of the proposed control schemes and usefulness of storage batteries to realize the scheduled generation of wind farms are described. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
