Description	CAS 2008 displays a total number of 96 papers (87 regular and 9 invited). The authors are from 20 countries on 4 continents (12 countries from Europe, 2 from Africa, 4 from Asia and 2 from North America). The quality of papers accepted for publication in the Proceedings was guaranteed by the evaluation made by referees (including members of the International Advisory Committee and of the Technical Program Committee). We would like to thank all the reviewers for their devoted work. This year we have 11 invited speakers from Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Romania, Spain, UK and USA. We are grateful to the invited speakers for their effort to make our Conference more attractive, as well to the distinguished scientists, which accepted to chair the various sessions of CAS 2008. CAS 2008 is sponsored by IEEE Electron Devices Society, under whose authority the CAS 2008 Proceedings is published, by the Ministry for Education, Research and Youth, the IEEE - Romania Section and the Electron Devices Chapter. The conference is also held under the aegis of the Romanian Academy as well as under aegis of the Electrochemical Society, Inc., including the European Local Section of the Electrochemical Society, Inc.
