Abstract	1) DEFINITIONS 2) The MARKET and the demand for INTEGRATION 3) An approach towards a MODEL 4) Hopes and needs There is an ever increasing number of buildings equipped with Centralised Technical Management, allowing constant monitoring of all the technical components of the structure. As a corollary of this development, often brought on by that of the different technologies, the need to synthesise knowledge of the environment in a more general manner has taken over from the professional, or even institutional traditions, making necessary the integration of fundamentally different disciplines such as management of security and of the technical trades. In fact difficulties in integrating professional and institutional customs, more than those of technology, have constituted a brake to the development of systems of technical management providing total integration of the fire alarm system. This article attempts to bring out the difficulties, but also to highlight real solutions which can be put forward for effective integration of the information and convenience of operation which are required, in an environment of a form which causes no detriment to security, but on the contrary profits from the experience accumulated by the different technologies in such a way that each reinforces the other. Integration must really correspond to "complexification" without giving anything away....
