| Abstract | Sometimes hydrometeors can occupy a great deal of volume. Under the action of relative humidity an aerosol particle volume can be varied following the law of differential equation by a factor of six. In this case many atmospheric elements transform to an ion state. Under the action of electromagnetic field (EMF) the ions acquire the rate of transfer over the particle volume. For describing the interaction of an EM field with the matter the unitary field theory is necessary, which can be applied to the matter at any its state of aggregation. The transition from the microscopic Maxwell equations, describing the electromagnetic field of atoms and molecules, to macroscopic equations, being the averaging of microscopic equations over physically infinitely small volume and time interval, enables one to see the influence of the medium characteristics: conductivity, polarization power and magnetization power. While regarding the microscopic Maxwell equations almost total agreement was attained, it is not simple to obtain the derivation of macroscopic equations. This happens as a result of the consideration of the medium characteristics when the scientists proceed from a phenomenological way of description of processes in the substance (the Maxwell equations are phenomenological) to the consideration of the behavior of charges in the substance, dividing them into the bound and free, however, it is not always possible to make such a separation. Using such an approach, the author is not confident that the phenomenological macroscopic equations are correctly take into account the medium characteristics. Further the author uses the phenomenological method, considering the vector of current density J as a result of charge motion, irrespective of whether they are bound or free. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
