| Abstract | The Landsat-7 satellite will incorporate an Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+). The addition of the "+" to the ETM acronym indicates a number of sensor improvements, most of which are related to improving the radiometric performance to the 5% absolute level in the reflective channels. Two calibration devices, a full aperture solar calibrator (FASC) and a partial aperture solar calibrator (PASC) have been added to the design. The FASC consists of a diffuser plate that will be deployed monthly in front of the ETM+ aperture to provide a full system, full aperture solar-based calibration. The PASC is a passive device that is permanently in the field of view of the sensor and provides a direct attenuated image of the Sun during every orbit over the North pole. The ETM+ continues to include an internal calibrator identical to the ETM internal calibrator and similar to the Landsat-4 and 5 TM's internal calibrators. This device provides a shutter at the focal plane to measure the instruments dark level and illumination from an internal calibration lamp and black body during every scan line. Plans also include periodic on-orbit calibrations by reference to ground targets. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
