| Abstract | The nonlinear mirror combines a dichroic mirror with a nonlinear crystal. A dichroic mirror totally reflects the second-harmonic (SH) wavelength and output coupler of fundamental wavelength (FW). If the SH wavelength experiences the appropriate phase shift with respect to the FW between the two passes in the nonlinear crystal, the reflectivity of FW increases and the system losses decreases. It is so called nonlinear mode locking. We will discuss the influence of cw mode locking with respect to nonlinear crystal lengths and the reflectivity of the dichroic output couplers. Based on the thorough experimental result, the optimum values of nonlinear crystal length and reflectivity of output coupler were found to 9 mm long and 74%. We established a theoretical model to calculate the threshold of output power for CML by means of the rate equation, the nonlinear reflection coefficient R/sub NL/, power conversion efficiency /spl eta/ and KTP length. Theoretical prediction and tendency were sustained by experiments results. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
