| Abstract | The present study investigates the influence of hybridisation on energy consumption. Computer micro simulation modeling is used to determine the performance and fuel consumption of Toyota Prius vehicle. In this work, we have developed a micro-simulation tool which integrates microscopic models of energy consumption. First, we start by modeling microscopic behavior of vehicles where we use two microscopic models: the linear model for longitudinal moving and MOBIL (Minimizing Overall Braking Induced by Lane Changes) for lateral displacement in order to generate a real driving cycle which respects microscopic models rules. Then we implement two energy-consumption models which calculate energy consumption of the REV (hybrid electric vehicle) Toyota Prius vehicle and classical vehicle. The principal purposes are studying the hybridization's effects on fuel consumption for a real driving cycle. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
