| Abstract | In this paper, we describe an ongoing initiative to bring a reliable and sustainable healthcare infrastructure through Clinic In A Can (CIAN) and Telemedicine to rural communities in Kajokeji, South Sudan. CIAN is an innovative, self-contained medical clinic built in a shipping container and deployed, ready for use, anywhere in the world to provide an emergency healthcare infrastructure. While, Telemedicine refers to the delivery of healthcare and sharing of medical knowledge over a distance using telecommunication and information technology. We propose a design for a telecommunications system that facilitate the operation of the telemedicine network in Kajokeji county by connecting all local Primary Health Care Units (PHCU) to the Clinic In A Can and the regional hospital in Juba, the capital city. The model includes a web based telemedicine system, which provides basic services for medical tele-consultation via both audio and video conferencing. The system will be used to facilitate the communications between Nurse to Doctor or Community Health Worker (CHW) to Nurse, Doctor to patient. We also expand the project to include a database design to store computerized medical records to maintain patient information. This relational database will be used by healthcare providers to store, retrieve and modify patient information, write referrals and give feedback to referrals through a Graphic User Interface (GUI). |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
