Abstract	With the annual increase in the consumption of Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL's) in the Brazilian market, the regulatory organization (INMETRO) that promotes a constant improvement of the safety and efficiency for products, verify the quality of CFL's through standard procedures using laboratories certifiers. Within this line of action, there are Lighting laboratories accredited by INMETRO to evaluate and approve the providers that will supply Brazilian market. The Federal Fluminense University (UFF) has one of these laboratories named LABLUX. This paper presents data regarding the quality of CFL's tested the period 2006-2014 and comments on the evolution of the evaluation criteria considering the standardized reference and others specific for power quality, and how this evolution means improvement in consumption, safety of people and rational use of electricity.
