Abstract	Based on the multi-angled underlaying surface information provided and generated by GIS, the authors took into account topology, vegetation and soilpsilas effects in the developmental process of runoff and built a spatial distributed model of basin water storage capacity. On the base of these studies, IHMS-VSWSC(Integrated Hydrological Modeling System Based on Various Spatial Water Storage Capacity) was explored and developed to simulate basin rainfall runoff processiquestwhich simulated hydrologic processes including canopy interception, snow melt , evapotranspiration , runoff production and flow concentration. Lastly, this model was applied and verified in the hydrologic simulation of Laoha River Dianzi basin, China. An average NASH-Sutcliffe coefficient of 0.807 was achieved and it indicated that this hydrologic model was a good one, as well as the spatial distributed model of water storage capacity the authors built could describe relative spatial distribution of water storage capacity in cold and arid area.
