| Abstract | This paper carried out the available transfer capability(ATC) calculation based on transient stability constrained optimal flow(TSCOPF). The model of ATC calculation the improved differential evolution algorithm (IDE) was established. This model adopted the hybrid method to judge the transient stability of the system, which solved imprecision problem in confirming boundaries of the rotor angle relative the center of inertia when the power-angle restriction was made as the stability criterion. The new variations and cross strategies were presented in the differential evolution process. The better global search capability the faster rapidity of convergence and search accuracy were assured through the introduction of the constant idea of simulation anneal tactics and time-variation cross probability. Focus on the characteristics of differential evolution algorithm (DE), the constraints of model adopted synthesis sufficiency function method to dispose based on state variable practicability according to fixed proportion to test infeasible solutions, which avoided the difficulties in defining the penalty divisor in normal penalty function method and increased the accuracy of the target value. The simulation results indicate that the improved strategy of DE algorithm is simple and effective, and the improved DE algorithm used to calculate ATC based on TSCOPF is faster and higher accuracy. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
