Abstract	The simulation of proportional-integral derivative (PID) controller was performed within Matlab SIMULINK environment. Intelligent Iterative Learning Algorithm (ILA) was utilized to tune the parameters of PID controllers, $K_{p},$ $K_{i},$ Kd to control Active Vibration Controller (AVC) of flexible beam structure. The dynamic characteristics of flexible beam were identified using neural network algorithm. During the investigation the PID-ILA controller showed faster settling time than that of normal PID controller. PID-ILA also gave smaller mean square error of $9.34×10^{-4}mm$ and compared to $5.9×10^{-3}mm$ achieved using the normal PID.
