NDLI: The Relationship Research between Usage of Resource and Performance of Computer System

Abstract	The performance degradation of computing system usually companies with the usage of system resources. If we can find the system resources which are easy to be worn down, and then monitor these resources, it will help us to forecast the possible failure of the system and to keep the high performance. In order to find the relationship between resource and performance, the performance degradation of computing systems is simulated, and parameters about performance and resources of the system are collected during degradation. Using wavelet technique, the noise data are removed from various kinds of system resources data. And the degradation rule of performance and the usage rule of system resources are analyzed, and then the mathematical models are established. The results demonstrate that the system performance is always degrading with the usage of system resources.
