| Abstract | The power curve of wind turbine power is an important indicator to assess the efficiency of the generating units. And the power curve has been widely introduced in the power forecasting of wind farm. In order to improve the accuracy of the power curve modeling, a maximum likelihood modeling of power curve based on mathematical expectation has been proposed in this paper. With the measured data from a wind turbine, the maximum likelihood modeling was performed, and then the built model was compared with those based on the other modeling methods. Results show that the curve of the maximum likelihood is smoother and of higher stability, so does the curve of the Bean. In addition, the simulation tests of the power curves have been made according to the wind speed series. The results indicate that the maximum likelihood method has a higher forecasting precision when the measured data are sufficient. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
