Abstract	This study focuses on the instability of truck cranes under different ground conditions. The models of a truck cranes QY25C from a company are made based on ADAMS (Automatic Analysis of Mechanical System). Through the vibration curve of the outriggers, the validity of the virtual prototype is proved—the reactions of outriggers, which are caused by sudden loading and unloading, wind force and the flexible boom, corresponded to reality. Then, a series of simulation is done to analysis the stability of the truck crane on different ground conditions. Finally, the lifting capacity chart on a relatively soft ground is made and the method of creating lifting capacity charts for each ground condition is proposed to ensure the safety.
