Abstract	This paper examines a method for converting among scintillation expression methods, peak to peak values method and standard deviation values method, by using local measurement of meteorological parameters. Part 1 focuses on tropospheric scintillation related to 12.260 GHz measurements at an elevation angle of 59.9/spl deg/. Part 2 focuses on ionospheric scintillation at 3.916 GHz; observations were made at KMITL, Bangkok, Thailand. The principle techniques find a good correlation coefficient ranging from 0.900 to 0.999. As a result the relationship between two methods is given by /spl sigma//sub x/=/spl alpha/(p-p)+/spl beta/, where /spl alpha/ is 0.14.
