| Abstract | The nano-SiO/sub x//low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and micrometer-SiO/sub 2//LDPE composites were prepared by the double-solution method and 7 /spl mu/m thin films were prepared by the spin-coating method. The characteristics of discharging current vs. time of pure LDPE and the composites containing nano-SiO/sub x/ or micrometer SiO/sub 2/ were measured, respectively. The dielectric spectra of /spl epsiv/'(/spl omega/)IXepsiv;"(/spl omega/) and tan/spl delta/(/spl omega/) were investigated by Fourier transform method in frequency domain. It is found that the slow polarization in the nano-SiOx/LDPE composite differs from those of the micrometer SiO/sub 2//LDPE composite and pure LDPE distinctly. It also can be seen that the polarization peak of the nano-SiOx/LDPE composite is much lower than that of LDPE in frequency domain, as well as the location of polarization peak of the nano-SiOx/LDPE is lower than that of LDPE in frequency domain. The slow polarization of all samples was discussed in detail at last. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
