| Abstract | We present an analytical model of throughput-delay tradeoff of the proportional fair scheduling of OFDMA Systems in context of user multiplexing. For this purpose, we propose simple and efficient resource allocation schemes which are based on 2-dimensional resource partitioning in frequency and time domain. Basically, frequency-domain partitioning is determined by degree of frequency diversity and time-domain partitioning is determined by degree of multiplexing which is number of users to be served in a sub-channel of a frame. Our approach is aimed at maximizing the delay constrained throughput by choosing the appropriate degree of multiplexing for a given degree of frequency diversity. We investigate the effect of degree-of-multiplexing and frequency diversity on delay QoS performance of OFDMA system by analyzing the effective capacity, and then develop an approach to finding the optimal degree of multiplexing by the asymptotic approximation. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
