Abstract	Portable Internet system will be a subset of IEEE 802.16e wireless MAN new standard in mobile communication based on IP network not circuit network. It will be expected that portable Internet give a great influence on mobile communication market. It is very controversial that portable Internet can be a substituted or complementary technology in mobile telecommunication market. Accordingly it is very interesting to compare portable Internet with CDMA mobile communication. Portable Internet can be very useful if any country choose it as NGN. In this paper technical and service comparison between portable Internet system and CDMA mobile communication is discussed for the shake of utilization
