Abstract	This paper discusses and summarizes the characteristics of several forms of implementing integrated network management system (INMS). In particular, the paper is concerned with ChinaGBN, one of the four larger Internets in China. Combined with designing and implementing ChinaGBN integrated network management system (GBINMS), some theoretical and technical issues of implementing INMS are discussed in detail. It is feasible to use data integration for vendor proprietary network management systems integrated with an unknown interior structure but with explicit MIBs (management information bases) and to use total integration for the network management system complying with SNMP (simple network management protocol) standards. Furthermore, a method called "processing MIB data configured" is proposed and adopted and the method makes GBINMS flexible and expansible.
