| Abstract | The MATE Program instituted by the Air Force (ASD) is of prime importance to the Air Force and industry. It opens many opportunities for innovative integrated logistic approaches to ATE which have been missing in the past. It promises tremendous monetary savings to the Air Force while improving timeliness of support to maintain maximum availability of aircraft and avionics. Essential to the success of the MATE Program is the acceptance by the Air Force and industry of the MATE concept. It has become evident, especially in the early stages of the project, that MATE is not generally understood. There have been mis understandings ranging from MATE as a universal test system to it being an add-on to existing test sets. Some view the program with respect to specific level of maintenance and/or elimination of intermediate maintenance level, others believe it is a battle of commercial test equipment vs. MIL-spec support systems, etc. The MATE Program as viewed by Westinghouse is the development of management tools based upon surveys, studies and analysis using proven ex perience, both good and bad, by which the Air Force can manage ATE and ATE support costs for future avionic systems from their conception through their planned operational life cycle. The approach is to develop a set of guides that are oriented to permit the configuration of support systems using MATE modules which are tailored to the overall individual project ob jectives. The approach by Westinghouse is to develop a confidence level of acceptance by both the Air Force and industry in the integration of inno vative application of both present and develop ing techniques. Industry participation is an essential element of the MATE program. The orator's presentation of the Westinghouse approach to MATE will be primarily directed to better inform the military/industry of the MATE impact on the support community. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

NDLI is a conglomeration of freely available or institutionally contributed or donated or publisher managed contents. Almost all these contents are hosted and accessed from respective sources. The responsibility for authenticity, relevance, completeness, accuracy, reliability and suitability of these contents rests with the respective organization and NDLI has no responsibility or liability for these. Every effort is made to keep the NDLI portal up and running smoothly unless there are some unavoidable technical issues.
Ministry of Education, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT), has sponsored and funded the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) project.
