Abstract	Based on the component approach, two kinds of dynamic load models, including a single-motor model and a two-motor model, have been developed for the stability studies of the Taiwan power system. The study results are presented in this paper. Two different events which occurred in the Taipower system have been reproduced by utilizing the derived dynamic load models. One set of field-measurement data, obtained from a three-phase bus-ground fault, is used to evaluate the improvement in accuracy provided by dynamic load models. The other field-measurement data, obtained from a low frequency oscillation, are used to analyze the effect and the sensitivity of dynamic load modeling.<>
