| Description | The utility of a thermal remote sensing system increases with it's ability to retrieve surface temperature or radiance accurately. The radiometer measures the water surface radiant temperature. Combining these measurements with atmospheric pressure, temperature, and water vapor profiles, a top-of-the-atmosphere tradiance estimate can be caluclated with a radiativer transfer code to compare to trhe sensor's output. A novel approach has been developed using an uncooled infrared camera mounted on a boom, to quantify buoy effects. |
