| Description | An experimental investigation of capillary-pumped loop (CPL) head pipes with single and multiple evaporators designed to develop and validate a computer model to predict the performance of CPL heat pipes over a wide range of conditions is discussed. The results of a literature search and review and a numerical study to determine the effects of geometric design parameters on the CPL heat pipe pressure drop and heat transfer characteristics are described. Vapor groove geometry and the use of circular versus rectangular evaporators were studied. |
