| Description | A test program which determines the extensional, bending and torsional stiffness of various titanium multiwall sandwich configurations is described. It is shown that unlike honeycomb core, the dimpled core is a significant contributor to the stiffness and strength of the sandwich. the extensional stiffness test shows irregularities which are attributed to foil thickness variations and to the difficulty to determine linear values from nonlinear tests. |
