| Abstract | From all continents, America has experienced the most fantastic adventure population since the eighteenth century. Of course, the other four continents have also registered an unprecedented population growth in the history of humanity, as a result of what science of the population called "demographic transition". This is America which, in two centuries, most profoundly changed the geography of the world's population. In 1800 its population (27 million), more than three times lower than in Africa, accounts for only 2.8% of the world population. This percentage increases to over 13% at the end of the twentieth century. The nineteenth and twentieth centuries have therefore seen the demographic birth of a continent that has changed the world. |
