| Abstract | This article covers on peculiarities of relationships between foster parents and foster children with disabilities. The research was done in Republic of Adygheya (the Russian Federation). The article presents the results of the empirical research, which reveals lack of emotional attachment and acceptation in the system of parent-child relationships. It also demonstrates frequent cases of pathological styles of upbringing, insignificant importance of the second parent, absence of experience in upbringing of a child with disabilities. Moreover, a certain tendency of foster parents to "fix" their foster children, who have a low level of social-psychological competence, was revealed. Finally, a problem of psychological unavailability of both parties to live together and establish relationships based on mutual affection was also found out. |
