NDLI: First record of Dipsas variegata (Duméril, Bibron & Duméril, 1854) (Serpentes, Dipsadidae) from the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Abstract	We present the first record of Dipsas variegata (Duméril, Bibron & Duméril, 1854) from the state of Rio de Janeiro. We collected this species on 25 July 2018 in Pedra Branca State Park, municipality of Rio de Janeiro. The new record is approximately 214 km from the nearest previously location in the municipality of Ilhabela, state of São Paulo. The specimen was deposited in the Museu Nacional da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (MNRJ). This record is part of a study on snakes in the park and expands the distribution of D. variegata to the Rio de Janeiro state.
