| Abstract | The purpose of this research was to describe the students\u27 mistakes in solving math fractions material to the seventh grade students of SMP LKIA Pontianak. The method of this research was descriptive with the form of case study. The subject of this research was 34 seventh grade students. Based on the data analysis and the discussion, it showed that generally many students did mistakes in solving the fractions material. The mistakes that had been done by the students were: 1) the misconceptions included wrongly converting from mixed numbers to improper fractions, equating the denominator using KPK, adding the fractions with the same denominator, adding the fractions with the different denominator, subtracting the fractions with the same denominator, and subtracting the fractions with the different denominator. 2) Operation errors included wrongly calculating in converting from mixed numbers to improper fractions, adding the numerator, subtracting the numerator, and writing the operation fractions |
