| Abstract | Within the MOVE project at the Laboratory of Computer Architecture and Digital Technique (CARDIT) of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Delft University of Technology, research is done in automating the design process of application specific processors (ASPs). To this purpose a framework, called the MOVE framework, has been developed. It consists of a set of tools to automatically generate ASPs starting from an application written in a high-level language such as C and C++. The processor architecture which is generated is called the MOVE processor, since it supports only one type of instructions, the move. The main advantages of this architecture are flexibility and scalability, which are exploited by the MOVE framework. In this way, the time to market of ASPs can be shortened drastically. |
