| Description | The green networking research area defines new mechanisms to modify the network configuration as a consequence of traffic behavior, so that energy saving can be obtained during low traffic hours. These solutions exploit traffic engineering techniques able to modify network paths so that a subset of network elements i.e, links or routers, can pass in a low power state. The great part of proposed solutions relies on links standby while just few of them consider nodes standby as a feasible solution. |
