| Abstract | A multiuser communication system, which combines some advantages of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA), is presented. For the uplink of a cellular mobile communication environment we analyse the properties of this scheme, taking into consideration multipath propagation on mobile radio channels. Applying error correction coding to this Direct Sequence CDMA system we are focusing on the problem of data detection and decoding. Since optimal detection and decoding are usually not feasible for reasons of complexity we also suggest a complexity reduced detection and decoding strategy. The performance of the considered system is evaluated by means of simulations using the channel models introduced by COST. |
