| Abstract | This paper presents a Modelica library developed for the dynamic simulation of a motorcycle, developed within the Dymola environment (see [1], [2], [3]) and tailored to test and validation of active control systems for motorcycle dynamics. As a matter of fact, as a complete analytical model for two-wheeled vehicles is not directly available due to the complexity of their dynamic behavior, a reliable model should be based on multibody modeling tools endowed with automated symbolic manipulation capabilities. In this work we illustrate the modular approach to motorcycle modeling and discuss the tire-road interaction model, which is the crucial part of the simulator. Moreover, we propose a virtual driver model which allows to perform all possible maneuvers. |
