| Abstract | BASEMENT TM is a distributed real-time architecture designed for vehicle internal communication and execution. Software in BASEMENT 1 is divided into two categories: one for hard real-time applications, termed red, and one for soft real-time applications, termed blue. Scheduling for the red system is static, off-line whereas preemptive, priority driven, on-line scheduling is used in the blue sub-system. This report presents the development of a scheduling tool. In BASEMENT there are constraints that make many algorithms unusable, e.g. assumptions that there is zero communication time or that all processors in the system are identical are not valid for BASEMENT. Execution of a process in BASEMENT is described with a precedence graph. Such a graph is composed of vertices and edges that connect vertices. The vertices represent the individual parts of software to be executed and the edges define relations, e.g. precedence, between verices. Edges can be labeled with the connection type... |
