| Abstract | This paper has emphasized the modelling capabilities of the fuzzy set framework for representing flexible queries. Different types of flexibility in queries have been considered: introducing tolerance, assigning various kinds of weights of importance, expressing conditional requirements, allowing for fuzzy quantifiers, identifying the correct type of 'AND' connectives in a compound query. A proper understanding of these capabilities is required for designing an interface which builds an accurate representation of the queries. References |
