| Abstract | In the manufacturing of TFT-LCD, the array process is for producing TFT-plates, the CF (color filter) process is for making CF-plates, and the cell process is for assembling a TFT plate with a CF one to form an integrated plate—called TFT-LCD plate. A TFT/CF plate comprises tens of panels and so is an assembled TFT-LCD plate. A TFT-LCD panel is good only when its two component panels are good. In the ramp-up stage of manufacturing TFT-LCD, the yields of array/CF processes may be so low that many panels on a plate are defect ones. One question might be raised: should a low-yield plate be reworked; and if so, how to determine the rework threshold? This paper formulates the rework-threshold decision problem and proposes a solution approach to the problem. Keywords: TFT-LCD,Rework Rule, low yield. |
