| Abstract | This extended abstract describes an entry to the MIREX’09 (Music Information Retrieval eXchange) chord detection competition. The system described here uses a combination of two algorithms previously presented by the author. The system first calculates a quantised chromagram from the audio recording. It then uses a harmonic change detection function to segment the chroma features in time. The average chroma values for each segment are found and the results are then analysed by a simple chord recognition algorithm. |
