| Abstract | . In the area of \On Line Analytical Processing" (OLAP), the concept of multidimensional databases is receiving much popularity. Indeed, OLAP allows to model data in a multidimensional way like a data cube in order to look for the data from many dierent perspectives. The purpose of this paper is to establish a new framework based on a neighborhood approach to restructure multidimensional data. This restructuration is formally dened using a concept of neighborhood. The multidimensional data are formalized as points dened by their coordinates (dimensions) and their values (measures) and a neighborhood is a set of points built according to one or more dimensions. Moreover, we show that each computable neighborhood corresponds to some analysis space and coincides with a relational view denition.
