| Abstract | Abstract. We present an algorithm implementing the failure detector class omega (Ω) in the crash-recovery model to coordinate data aggregation in wireless sensor networks. In order to minimize the energy consumption when collecting sensor data of a wireless sensor network, we divide the network in regions. The algorithm ensures the agreement on a common aggregator by all sensors of a region regarding sensor reachability and power saving criteria. Data aggregation is performed by the sensor aggregator selected by the algorithm. |
