| Description | This study examines the impact of the AICCRA initiative, which aims to strengthen climate resilience in Africa by making Climate Information Services (CIS) and Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) technologies accessible to over seven million smallholder farmers. Conducted in six regions of Senegal in 2024, it evaluates access, adoption, and the socioeconomic benefits of AICCRA innovations while identifying barriers to broader uptake. The findings reveal significant progress, with 65% of beneficiary households adopting CSA practices and 84.45% using CIS. However, disparities persist, particularly in gender: women participate less in training (12.5%) and adopt CSA practices at lower rates (55.26%) compared to men. Traditional dissemination channels, such as phone calls (74.17%) and radio (20%), are predominant, while digital tools like SMS and the Internet remain underutilized. Despite these successes, the study highlights the need for gender-sensitive approaches, enhanced digital inclusion, and tailored dissemination strategies to maximize impact and ensure equitable access to these innovations. |
