| Description | Report of the Task Force on Banana and Plantain Research appointed by the Chairman of the CGIAR at International Centers Week in October 1992. The report was submitted by task force chair Henri Carsalade at the CGIAR Mid Term Meeting, May 1993. An earlier version was discussed at TAC 60.The Task Force recommended CGIAR support for a consortium of CGIAR and non CGIAR institutions to conduct research on musa germplasm (banana and plantain). Several institutional options were identified. The task force recommendation was a consortium served by INIBAP as a scientific secretariat, with active roles for IITA and IBPGR. INIBAP was asked to create an improved governance structure for this purpose.There are several annexes. |
