Abstract	Presses are manufacturing tools capable of exerting tensile and/or compressive stresses on the workpiece to accomplish mechanical fabricating operations. Using green machinery design principle, novel multi-position presses, composed of a two-step orthogonal toggle force-amplifying mechanisms and rod-less pneumatic cylinders with floating rolling higher pair, are proposed. The working principle of the multi-position press is investigated. Equations of mechanical advantage and output force of multi-position press are developed. Example is given to show the efficiency of the two-step toggle actuator. Advantages of the multi-position press include environmental friendliness, overall structure simplicity and ability of imposing equal output force on workpieces simultaneously.
