| Abstract | The Versioning Machine (VM) is an open source framework for digital editing. It was developed for literary research and for the parallel study of multiple versions of a text encoded according to the guidelines of the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) [4][6], an encoding standard for the representation of humanities data. The VM was developed as an interface for readers to study diplomatic transcriptions and images of a text and as a tool for temporal and spatial reconstruction of an author's work.[6] The recently released VM 5.0 adds support for the alignment of audio tracks and transcriptions. |
