| Abstract | The Ada Compiler Evaluation Capability (ACEC) is a U.S. Government sponsored evaluation suite that was first released in the fall of 1988. It consists of over 1000 runtime performance tests and is under continuing development to address additional evaluation concerns. Currently, the government is developing procedures and guidelines to make the collection and reporting of evaluation data a more systematic and formal process. The Compiler Technology Evaluation Panel will address the current status of evaluation technology, and the prospects for improving both compiler technology and the compiler selection process through formal evaluation procedures. The panel will be comprised of four panelists and an “ACEC Procedures/Guidelines” presenter. The four panelists will consist of two Ada compiler developers, a defense contractor, and a government program representative selected for their knowledge, experience, and different perspectives of Ada compiler evaluation. The presenter will be an AJPO representative who will be providing the current status on the intended use and procedures of the ACEC. This presenter will also serve as a panelist during the question and answer period. The panel is meant to promote discussion and provide insight into embedded systems Ada compiler quality/usability especially as it relates to current and proposed evaluation tests and procedures. To facilitate this discussion, in addition to the ACEC presentation, each of the four panelists have been requested to respond to the following three questions:What is the current overall quality of embedded system Ada Compilers targeted for “bare” processors? Answers should consider the following:Code generation - correctness, time and space efficiencyRuntime system - correctness, time and space efficiency, configurability, and interfacing capabilityImplementation dependent features for efficiency and their impact on portabilityCompiler support for good symbolic informationAbility to interface with other software integration toolsRobustness (freedom from errors) and user interfaceWhat is the current overall quality of the ACEC for evaluating Ada compilers for “bare” processors? Answers should consider the following:Coverage of major evaluation areasSize - number of testsEase of use and degree of automationAnalysis tools and the ability to synthesize resultsSoundness of the methodologyRemembering that language conformity is a critical quality parameter, what has been the impact of the ACVC (test and procedures) on Ada compiler quality? What is and/or what will be the impact of the ACEC (tests and procedures) on Ada compiler quality?. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

NDLI is a conglomeration of freely available or institutionally contributed or donated or publisher managed contents. Almost all these contents are hosted and accessed from respective sources. The responsibility for authenticity, relevance, completeness, accuracy, reliability and suitability of these contents rests with the respective organization and NDLI has no responsibility or liability for these. Every effort is made to keep the NDLI portal up and running smoothly unless there are some unavoidable technical issues.
Ministry of Education, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT), has sponsored and funded the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) project.
