| Abstract | It is our great pleasure to welcome you to ACM Hypertext 2011, the 22nd ACM Conference on Hypertext and Hypermedia, and to the "Land of the Innovator", the campus of the Eindhoven University of Technology, located in the "city of light" Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Hypertext is an exciting conference because it brings together researchers and practitioners with a wide range of technical and non-technical interests in the subject of hypertext, as illustrated by the four tracks we have in 2011: Dynamic and Computed Hypermedia, chaired by Peter Brusilovsky and David Millard; Emerging Structures and Ubiquitous Hypermedia, chaired by Niels Olof Bouvin and Frank Shipman; Social Media (Linking People and Things), chaired by Andreas Hotho, Gerd Stumme and Markus Strohmaier; Interaction, Narrative, and Storytelling, chaired by Mark Bernstein and Frank Nack. Three keynote speakers represent the breadth, depth and maturity of this conference: Marti Hearst, Wendy Hall and Noshir Contractor. Prof. Dr. Marti Hearst is professor at the University of California in Berkeley and performs research on improving (designing, developing and evaluating) systems for information access. Prof. Dr. Dame Wendy Hall, professor at the University of Southampton and former president of ACM, was one of the first computer scientists to study multimedia and hypermedia and has been at the forefront of the hypertext research community throughout her career. She is also one of the initiators of Web Science as a new research field. Prof. Dr. Noshir Contractor investigates factors that lead to the formation, maintenance and dissolution of dynamically linked social and knowledge networks. The Program Committee and the reviewers worked hard to select an excellent program from 104 paper submissions. We accepted 31 full papers and 4 short papers. Each paper was reviewed by three PC members. The program chair together with the track chairs Peter Brusilovsky, David Millard, Niels Olof Bouvin, Frank Shipman, Andreas Hotho, Gerd Stumme, Markus Strohmaier, Mark Bernstein and Frank Nack made a final selection based on the reviews and discussions within the PC. In addition to the paper selection we also managed to put an exciting program of workshops and tutorials together thanks to the effort of Martin Atzmüller and Mykola Pechenizkiy. Finally we put together an exciting set of demos and posters, thanks to Frank Allan Hansen and Natalia Stash. Before, during and after the conference the hypertext community has been kept up to date on all the initiatives and activities thanks to our webmaster Natalia Stash. The practical local arrangements are a team effort of locals from Eindhoven, coordinated by Riet van Buul. The program with (free) workshops and tutorials, three keynotes, social activities and generous student grants has been made possible through the sponsorship of ACM SIGWEB and the financial support of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), The Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen (KNAW), The School for Information and Knowledge Systems (SIKS) and the Eindhoven University of Technology. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

NDLI is a conglomeration of freely available or institutionally contributed or donated or publisher managed contents. Almost all these contents are hosted and accessed from respective sources. The responsibility for authenticity, relevance, completeness, accuracy, reliability and suitability of these contents rests with the respective organization and NDLI has no responsibility or liability for these. Every effort is made to keep the NDLI portal up and running smoothly unless there are some unavoidable technical issues.
Ministry of Education, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT), has sponsored and funded the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) project.
