Abstract	These are the proceedings of IPTComm 2011, the fifth of a successful series of conferences on Principles, Systems and Applications of IP Telecommunications. This year's edition of the conference is held in Chicago, IL, USA, on August 1 and 2, 2011. The scope of the conference covers new services and service models, management and resilience, mobility, and security, embracing recent trends of cloud- and browser-based services. IPTComm 2011 combined invited submissions of full and short papers with posters and demos, thereby providing a combination of mature and emerging results, of theory and practice. It attracted 24 submissions. The technical program committee chairs ensured a rigid review process with at least three reviews received for each paper. The technical program committee decided to accept 6 full papers and 3 short papers for the conference, resulting in an acceptance ratio of 38%. Additionally, 2 posters were selected for presentation at the conference. The program was completed by 5 demonstrations chosen from highly interesting submissions solicited via a separate call.
