| Abstract | Security is important for mission-critical wireless sensor networks (WSNs). This is especially so because powerful adversaries could compromise and control a significant fraction of the network nodes. A plethora of schemes has been developed to secure wireless sensor networks and resilience to sophisticated attacks has been analyzed. However, the question of how the adversary could deploy her resources to maximally affect the attacked system has remained largely unaddressed. This is the problem this paper is concerned with: Given a number of compromised entities (nodes) and cryptographic keys, how can the adversary devise a close-to-optimal attack tactic? To the best of our knowledge, this is the first investigation of its kind: while the basic adversarial behavior is well-known, the problem of how the adversary can optimally deploy her resources to maximize the attack impact has not been considered for WSNs. We consider an abstract model of the mission-critical WSN and the adversary, and we find that the determination of an optimal attack is computationally hard, thus, we devise an efficient heuristic approach. An intelligent adversarial resource allocation indeed yields disproportional gains for the attacker. Our analysis is the first necessary step to comprehend how to best address vulnerabilities. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
