Abstract	This volume contains the proceedings of the International Middleware Conference, held in Vancouver, Canada, between December 7 and 11, 2015. This year marked the sixteenth edition of this conference, held annually since 1998. The Middleware Conference's primary focus is on disseminating important results in middleware technologies, which offer design principles, programming models, frameworks, protocols, and runtime services that support the development and execution of distributed systems. The broad scope, increased scale, and complexity of these systems present ongoing challenges to researchers and practitioners alike. Continuing the tradition of prior meetings, this edition of the ACM/IFIP/USENIX Conference has provided a forum for both researchers and practitioners to discuss the design, implementation, deployment, and evaluation of distributed system platforms and architectures.
